XTREME and MEGA Tamping Tools
BTI has recently rolled out their new line of XTREME and MEGA Tamping Tools. These new tools have increased the carbide coverage on the pad making them wear longer. This increased carbide protection on the front and back of the
pad is also more impact resistant which means less chipping.

In addition, the XTREME tips have an inserted carbide tip which reduces the amount of broken tips caused by impact with debris in the ballast. Force from the impact of the tamper will direct the carbide tighter into the tip, not away from it, resulting in fewer damaged tips.
